The Sufragium application guarantees both the confidentiality of each participant and the verification of their identity. It thus ensures the transparency, traceability, quality and legitimacy of the opinions collected. For this purpose, Sufragium has based its entire solution on security via cryptographic technology.

Indeed, the authentication of participants is ensured by the "SMS OTP" brick, which is easy to use, simple, fast and inexpensive. A one-time password (OTP) is randomly generated and then sent by SMS so that the identity verification phase can then be carried out and finalised by the participant.

MARKETING OR NOTIFICATION?

The trend that began in 2020 continues to be confirmed in 2021. The number of SMS notifications sent continues to grow (+97% compared to the previous year). After overtaking marketing last year, notification is now the dominant channel, accounting for the overall increase in the number of messages sent (+45.28%) .

SMS marketing remains on the same dynamic as the previous year (-0.89%). The marketing mailings of 2020 had been strongly impacted by the containment measures. 2021 will also have been a quiet year in terms of marketing traffic, probably slowed down by a health situation that did not allow marketers to conduct large-scale advertising operations.
However, there was a certain rebound at the end of the year, with an anticipation of mailings linked to promotional highlights, such as the approach of Black Friday. Communication campaigns around the sales were more important in 2021, but more spread out over time than in 2020.

WHEN ARE THE SMS SENT ?

As in 2020, SMS notification in 2021 remains evenly spread over the week. The only difference in 2021 is that Monday is slightly less popular and all other days of the week are more popular. The peak of sending is now on Tuesday and a decrease in the number of sendings takes place until Sunday.
On the marketing side, Fridays remain the favourite day for marketers to run their promotional campaigns via SMS. But it is Monday that now takes second place, replacing Tuesday, which is clearly decreasing compared to previous years. Saturday's share is also increasing year on year.

If the wide time slot from 8am to 8pm has been asserting itself year after year as the time slot representing the vast majority of sendings (marketing and notifications combined), 2021 is the year where this time slot reaches a kind of plateau (91.12% of SMS sent, against 91.15% in 2020).
In general, 2021 sees the morning becoming increasingly popular with businesses (33.69% of sends).

The 10am-11am time slot continues to be the preferred sending time (+3.29 points compared to the previous year), and the 11am-12am time slot is also gaining ground (+1.76 points). Only the 9-10 a.m. time slot loses 2.64 points.
Shipments are down after 4pm compared to last year (-1.84 points), probably due to the deceleration of delivery services and Click and Collect.

TO WHICH OPERATORS?

The distribution of SMS sent by operators is extremely stable from year to year, in line with their market shares:
Orange (30%), SFR (25%), Bouygues Telecom (20%) and Free (15%). The only slight change is that NRJ Mobile (5%) gains 1.39 points in 2021.

The rise of SMS notification announced in 2020 has indeed taken place in 2021. While SMS marketing has not returned to its pre-pandemic level, the digitalisation of exchanges has been confirmed and notification has driven the growth of A2P SMS as a whole.

The vaccination campaign is obviously not unrelated to this sharp increase in traffic. Online medical appointment booking platforms have seen an explosion in the number of SMS reminders and confirmations of appointments.

The SMS OTP (one-time password) has also played a major role in this growth. It had been impacted by the cessation of its use for banking transactions, but is finding a second wind in the multiplication of accounts requiring strong authentication. Connection to cryptocurrency wallets, remotely accessible company platforms (with the development of teleworking), or accounts hosting sensitive data are all new uses involving a strong need for security, to which the SMS provides a response.

How to shorten a URL and insert a short link on the platform smsmode© ?

smsmode© has set up an automatic reduction of all your links, whatever the solution used (online platform, API, Mail2SMS...). When you integrate a link into your message, you only need to count 12 characters (the length of a short link, smsmode©) in place of the original link. If you do not wish to personalise your short link, you can go directly to step 2: use and follow-up of short links.

STEP 1: CREATE A SHORT LINK

1️⃣ Go to the "URL shortener" tab on the left of the "Services" menu in the customer area.

2️⃣ Click on "Create a short link" to create your first short link.

3️⃣ Enter the URL you wish to shorten.

4️⃣ Name your link (optional) so you can find it later.

5️⃣ Choose the expiry date of your short link.
By default, it expires after one month.

6️⃣ Confirm the creation of this short link by clicking on "Add".

Mediflash developed a unique algorithm matching the “caregiver” contact database with the mission criteria (geographical region, duration and hours, etc.). The challenge was tohave an efficient notification channel to alert the group of caregivers defined, and to do the mission as quickly as possible.

The sending of a personalised SMS was chosen. It contains the essential information about the job and a direct link to its full description. From there, the acceptance of the mission is fluid, fast and automated.

The choice of Mediflash for SMS was guided by 2 requirements: firstly, SMS is part of the practices of temporary employment agencies in the health sector. Secondly, SMS is a popular channel and remains the best way to reach the target audience. The result is an improved user experience, with approved efficiency.

Before the introduction of SMS notification, filling an assignment was time consuming. Today, it only takes a few minutes are enough!

While caregivers were initially called up by the Mediflash team, the implementation of an automated SMS notification scenario has resulted in a huge time saving in the dissemination of assignment offers. It also reduced the lead time between the creation of the assignment and the moment it was filled, and improved adaptability to the growing number of caregivers and assignments.

An automated notification solution in nocode

To do this, Mediflash opted for an implementation of the Zapier X smsmode©. The goal was to set up an integration between their algorithm and the smsmode© routing platform with a nocode approach and stack. Thanks to configuration of an automated workflow on Zapier, this could be done easily. A scenario that starts with the creation of an extraction line generated by the Mediflash algorithm with a list of caregivers to contact and a message to send, which continues with a trigger in Zapier and the transmission of the data to smsmode©.

What is the result? A very quick solution to set up. Thanks to the Zapier plugin, the configuration of the gateway between the Mediflash ecosystem and the smsmode© platform required a minimal configuration. An interconnection particularly adapted with the few “technological” human resources available at the time.

We needed a tool that was ready to use, fast and simple. The implementation of the gateway with Zapier could be done in a few hours.

Interfacing the sending of SMS thanks to Zapier is particularly suitable for startups, especially during their launch phase. As soon as they reach a certain size, a switch to solutions such as the implementation of an API is essential...

Mediflash has made the same observation. While the company is experiencing strong growth and development, it has embarked on a process of migrating all the nocode services it has put in place to on-premises solutions. The current goal is to free itself from third-party tools and technologies and to eliminate intermediaries. This migration is also a way to gain scalability and reduce limitations, particularly in terms of performance.
Thus, the Zapier SMS plugin - and nocode solutions in general - was a quick win and a first step to integrate SMS delivery during the project implementation phase. An excellent testing tool capable to develop robust and powerful automation before integrating the scenario with API calls.
