Modification of
sender ID or OADC rules in France
From March 10,2025, French operators will be stepping up their controls to combat fraud, particularly smishing and the use ofnon-compliant OADCs. These contractual changes are accompanied by potential fines for shipments not complying with the new requirements.
Here's what's new.
Certain types of SenderID-OADC will now be blocked in France or replaced if they do not comply with the following new requirements:
- SenderID with special characters → All special characters are forbidden.
- SenderID numeric only → Senders consisting of numbers only are blocked.
- Generic SenderIDs → Generic words such as "alert", "rdv", "payment", "bank", "parcel"..., are no longer allowed.
Any non-compliant SenderID-OADC may be overwritten or blocked by smsmode© or French telecom operators.
Act now! Check and update your SenderID-OADC to ensure the continuity of your shipments.
