Generate and share short links for your mobile messages

A short link generator integrated into your customer area, to convert a link into a short URL of just 12 characters. No manipulation or external tools required. This short link can be used in SMS, RCS or WhatsApp Business messages. Get a short link for landing pages created via the smsmode© feature, or for any other URL (landing page, website, mobile application, social networks, etc.).

This URL shortener feature is only included in Classic, Medium and Premium subscriptions.

How to shorten a URL and insert a short link on the platform smsmode© ?

When you include a short link in your message, all you need is 12 characters (the length of a short link, smsmode©) in place of the original link. If you don't want to personalize your short link, you can skip to step 2: using and tracking short links.

smsmode© has set up an automatic reduction of all your links, whatever the solution used (online platform, API, Mail2SMS...) as well as an option to add "https". You can have these options activated by your account manager.

STEP 1

Creating a short link

  • Go to the 'Enhanced messaging' tab on the left of the 'Services' menu in the customer area.
  • Click on 'Create a short link' to create your first short link.
  • Enter the URL you wish to shorten and give your link a name (optional) so that you can find it later.
  • Choose the expiration date for your short link. By default, it expires after one month.
  • Confirm the creation of this short link by clicking on 'Add'.

A URL that has already been shortened will remain the same short link (unless deleted).

STEP 2

Using and tracking short links

  • Copy and paste your generated short link into your message. This short 12-character link can be used regardless of the solution you use ( SMS editor in your messaging system or others).
  • Track the number of clicks on your link. Please note: the number of clicks is updated in real time, but only by refreshing the page.
  • Find a short link from the list using a keyword search.
  • Delete a generated short link at any time by ticking the relevant URLs and clicking on 'Delete'.

Receive answers from your customers

The Reply option SMS lets the recipients of your campaigns reply directly to the SMS received via the short number used in the header. This gives you the freedom to interact with your customers at SMS in a fully automatic way.

No extra cost

The Answer option SMS is at no extra cost to you (cost of sending a SMS Pro). It is also free of charge for the recipient (cost of sending a SMS without surcharge, depending on package and operator conditions).

Storage and export possible

Responses received are stored and viewed online from your customer account for easy management. You can export them from the customer area via an Excel or CSV file, or redirect them to your servers via a URL notification for automated processing.

 

Restrictions:

- Option only available for SMS Pro.
- Do not use a personalized transmitter.
- Service only available in mainland France.

How to manage the answers SMS on your customer area?

Viewing responses

You can view all the SMS replies you have received in your customer area via the "Replies" submenu in the "Messages" section. (1).

Exporting answers (2) (as a CSV file) by clicking on the "Export" button in the top left-hand corner. (3).

Exporting responses

A popup appears in which you enter the start and end dates. (4). You must also select "Responses received" as the filter to obtain an export of responses only.

Answer details SMS

Click on the name of the answer SMS (2)
(first screen), you can access the
answer details (5) including :

- a reference to the response SMS,
- the content of the response text received,
- the telephone number of the response sender,
- the reference of the original SMS ,
- the date and time of reception.

Etc.

URL notification of responses

If you would like to receive URL notifications when a SMS response is received on your customer account, you can set the URL of your choice in the "Receive SMS (MO)" field. (7) in the "Settings" section and the "Developers" sub-section (6).

A query will then be sent automatically to this URL.
